Hound Dog Lure retriever

About 20 years ago Ed and Ken were losing plugs while trolling the stump flats for walleye, not to mention all the jigs and spinner baits that were lost in the brush piles and tree tops. We tried all the usual remedies at the time, from old spark plugs to home made and commercial lure retrievers. None worked very well until Ed, the inventor, changed the wire loop on Ken's home made lure retriever.

Now we couldn't lose a lure. We spent the first day testing the new design, trying to hang all types of lures in the worst places and every lure was retrieved. It was easy to use and it worked flawlessly. With the Hound Dog we could fish in the heaviest brush, where the lunkers hide, and not worry about losing a lure.

Next we applied for a patent and it was suggested that we change the design of the lead cylinder used on the prototype lure retriever. Ed's long time friend Pete was visiting and suggested the Hound Dog name and Jim Nelson, a good friend and world class wood carver, carved the Hound Dog. The rest is history.
